Fabric Manipulation

Most of my work is in three dimensions or, if in two dimensions, has a strong sense of depth. For the work here, I've taken fabric or metallized Tyvek® and applied hand stitching and gathers to the material to create dimension. A 1" square grid is the basis for the Quadrilateral series..

Quadrilateral II, 2019. Hand stitched. Fabric, thread. 18” x 18” x 1 1/2”

Quadrilateral II, 2019. Hand stitched. Fabric, thread. 20” x 18” x 1 1/2”

Quadrilateral III, 2019. Hand stitched. Fabric, thread. 18” x 30” x 1 1/2”

Quadrilateral IV, 2019. Hand stitched. Fabric, thread. 18” x 18” x 1 1/2”

For the Untitled, Fissility, and Spill series, various fabric manipulation techniques are applied to metallized Tyvek®.
